The certification that keeps paying dividends.
Over the years, I’ve attended academic courses, manufacturer training, and AV industry certification programs. One credential that has continued to deliver real value is my Extron Authorized Programmer Certification, which I earned in March 2024.
After completing Extron’s programming levels and passing the Authorized Programmer course with a focus on Python programming, the learning does not stop after the exam. Extron provides monthly online Python programming and technical training sessions for authorized programmers.
These sessions are hosted by Extron employees and provide a depth of Python and AV control system knowledge that goes beyond what is typically found in manuals, videos, or basic documentation.
I’ve learned to invest training dollars wisely by focusing on platforms and skills that translate across multiple manufacturers, including AV programming, Python, control systems, and Apple / iOS development. Extron’s programming courses, especially the Authorized Programmer track, stand out as one of the most valuable AV education paths I’ve completed.
